10,000 Days
This album basically takes place around year one. It is the birth of Christianity.
So in AEnima, humans were starting to burry their dead and starting developing rituals, such as Eulogies.
In Lateralus humans are learning better ways to prevent death and diseases.
Now in 10,000 Days humans are obsessed with bring the dead back to life.
It is said Egyptians began to practice mummification around 2600 BC, so you can see how this leads up to human's obsession with bringing the dead back to life. And the beginning of Vicarious sounds very much like something happening inside a tomb, at least to me it does.
In the stereoscopic images of the booklet, you see Adam with what could possibly be organs in jars, and embalming fluid. "The first step in the process was the removal of all internal parts that might decay rapidly" quoted from this site. The heart was left as it was believed to be the center of a person's being and intelligence.
