For a long time I had the hunch that there was more to this album than just being a bunch of political cover songs. Eventually I realized there was a story progression throughout this album.
Here's the progression in simple terms:
1. Annihilation:
This song is a warning of destruction to come.
2. Imagine:
This song suggests an alternative to the previous song, saying we can have heaven on Earth if we come to gether.
3. Peace Love and Understanding:
This song describes another person who is very hopeless and doubtful that we can have world peace.
4. What's Goin On:
This is an answer back, a stronger argument that peace can happen.
5. Passive:
A negative response, the hopeless person is accepting that they have enemies.
